Turtlecreek Township’s Population is 17,000+ and is a growing rural/suburban community with an array of unique target hazards, housing options from large farms to modern sub-divisions. I-75 and I-71 both transverse through what is one of Ohio’s largest townships in landmass.

A recent organizational assessment of the Fire and EMS department was conducted with more than 40 recommendations for improvements made. The township is working to implement the recommendations which will include an increase in full-time personnel, additional on-duty staffing, three staffed stations, a fire station renovation project and updates to the fleet, equipment, and training programs.

The Assistant Chief is the second-in-command of the department, in addition to normal day-to-day administrative and operational duties, the Assistant Chief may have some on-call responsibilities to respond to fire/EMS incidents at night, on weekends, and holidays as needed.

Turtlecreek Township is looking for an experienced Fire and EMS executive, someone who has both the experience and the education to be ready to help implement change. A major responsibility of the new Assistant Chief will be working to implement the recommendations from the organizational assessment.

Succession planning is vitally important, the township hopes to find a candidate who not only can hit the ground running as Assistant Chief but, someone who can grow personally and professionally as the organization grows.

Assistant Fire and EMS Chief

Turtlecreek Township is now accepting applications for Full Time Firefighter/Paramedic.

Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

Pay range is $22.00 - $23.00 per hour with full benefit package paid by employer. 

Perks and Benefits working for the township include: 

·         Paid Time off which includes

o   Holidays – 11.5 days annually

o   Personal – 24 hours annually after 1^st year

o   Vacation – 96 hours after 1^st year

·         Benefits – Health Insurance Premiums employer paid 100%

o   Co-Insurance and Deductible reimbursed to employee up to an allotted amount

·         Retirement – 24% of earnings employer contribution into the Ohio Police & Fire

·         Hours are 24/48

·         Kelly Day every 6 weeks
